Free Gift with Purchase ("the app") is a Shopify app that lets merchants automatically add a free gift product to a shopper's cart once their cart reaches a spend threshold the merchant sets. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and how it's protected.
When a merchant installs the app, we collect:
myshopify.com domainThe app does not collect customer personal information. Shoppers see the gift-progress widget and have the gift added to their cart automatically; no shopper is required to submit an email, name, or any contact details to the app, and no shopper-identifying data is stored or transmitted anywhere by this app.
Shop and rule configuration data is used solely to operate the app: to display the rule editor in the Shopify admin, to serve the widget's configuration to the storefront, and to create/manage the native Shopify automatic discount that makes the gift product free. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.
The app is hosted on Railway, which processes data solely to run the app's servers. See Railway's own privacy policy for details. We do not share store or configuration data with any other third party.
The free-gift rule is stored as a metaobject inside the merchant's own
Shopify store, not in a separate database we control, and the discount it
manages is a native Shopify discount owned by the store. When a merchant
uninstalls the app, Shopify automatically removes that data, and we
process the mandatory shop/redact, customers/redact,
and customers/data_request webhooks required for Shopify App
Store compliance.
Merchants can request details of the data associated with their store, or request its deletion, at any time by contacting us below. Uninstalling the app also triggers automatic data cleanup as described above.
